About Quilters Anonymous

The guild strives to share the love and knowledge of all aspects of quilting and related items, and to provide education and quilting-related community service. Quilters Anonymous was established in 1977 and has more than 400 members from throughout the Puget Sound region. Our out-of-area membership has grown recently since we began using the Zoom virtual platform for meetings, workshops, Day Camps, Satellite Groups, and more! We hope that this Virtual Quilt Show will inspire you to learn more about QA from our website and that you will consider joining the guild.

Meetings

QA holds one morning and one evening meeting each month in Shoreline, WA. National and local guest speakers are a highlight of at least nine meetings annually. Currently, QA meetings are held in a hybrid format — in person and also virtual on a Zoom platform.. For a list of past and upcoming speakers, click here.

Workshops

Our guest speakers usually offer full-day workshops in their areas of expertise. Workshops are available at a very reasonable cost to members. QA is currently providing monthly workshops, either on the Zoom platform or in person.

Quilt Show

QA’s quilt show is the largest annual quilt show in Western Washington.  Held every March at Evergreen Fairgrounds, it draws visitors from across the US and Canada. Mark your calendars now to attend the 42nd QA Quilt Show, March 14-16, 2025, where you will see more than 400 quilts by members, shop a Merchant Mall, see demonstrations and have access to food and beverages on site. QA also offers donated quilting items and gently used books for sale. Members attend free!3

Community Service

QA members are generous in giving back to our community. They create quilts and other gifts of comfort for members of our community. For more information, including a gallery of quilts, click here.  You may also visit www.quiltersanonymous.org/charity  or contact charity@quiltersanonymous.org

Member Activities

There are many opportunities each month for learning and getting together with friends, or for participating in QA fundraising.

Satellite Groups are small groups with focuses ranging from art quilts to piecing to applique to work on individual projects.

Day Camps are held two times a year on a Friday and Saturday. At these events, members share their knowledge and skills in classes for a nominal fee.

Retreats are held two times a year at a retreat center in Gold Bar, WA. Members enjoy five to six days of sewing, friendship and good food!

Each year, members work together to produce a beautiful Raffle Quilt to raise money to support the guild.

Resources

QA’s website provides everything you need to know about QA at your fingertips plus online registration and payments for all events.

The lending library has more than 1,500 books, DVDs, CDs and quilting templates for members to check out.

A Facebook group and Instagram provide social connections for sharing your latest projects, asking questions and getting great tips from experts in the guild!

Friendship

QA is a place to make connections with others who love quilting and textiles. Whether at a meeting, Day Camp or Retreat, we love to talk, laugh, and learn!
